What we do at Weir

We are a global leader in mining technology for a sustainable future. We help our customers extract the resources the world needs more efficiently and more sustainably. Our planet’s future depends on the transition to renewable energy, and that transition can only happen with the metals and minerals our customers deliver. So, we work side by side with mines across the globe to move less rock, use less energy, use water wisely, and create less waste. Together, we drive the shift to smart, efficient, and more sustainable mining.

Make your impact

You’ll play a key role in solving real-world challenges. You’ll apply your skills to deliver results that matter whether that’s through engineering, planning or customer support. You’ll work with purpose, learn every day and help shape a more sustainable future.

What you’ll do

⦿ *Internal Audit Execution:* Conduct walkthroughs, perform control testing, analyse evidence, and document results in line with Group Internal Audit methodology. Your team will be responsible for executing approximately 40 audits annually across multiple divisions and geographies, ensuring thorough and accurate audit processes.

⦿ Process & Control Evaluation: Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of financial, operational, and compliance controls, identifying gaps and recommending practical improvements. Daily activities include evaluating controls related to finance, inventory, ethics, compliance, and ESG KPIs to mitigate risks and enhance operational efficiency.

⦿ Reporting & Follow-Up: Prepare clear working papers, contribute to audit reports, and monitor the timely completion of agreed management actions. Success will be measured by the quality and clarity of audit findings and the effective closure of action plans.

⦿ Digital & Data-Enabled Audit: Utilize digital tools, data analytics, and AI-enabled platforms such as Agentic AI to streamline audit processes, identify anomalies, and improve audit efficiency, allowing more focus on strategic activities rather than repetitive tasks.

⦿ Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with all levels of leadership globally, including direct communication lines to the board when necessary, to influence positive change and strengthen governance.

⦿ Travel Requirements: International travel up to 30% is expected, with trips typically lasting 5-11 days to locations such as Malaysia, Turkey, Poland, Morocco, and Australia. Travel will be shared among team members.

⦿ Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.

What you’ll bring

Nice-to-haves:

⦿ Background in consulting or experience with consultancy firms.

⦿ Experience with technology-enabled auditing, including data analytics and AI tools.
