Job Purpose:

  • To provide support in the manufacturing and packaging processes
  • Provide motivational and effective supervisory direction for department team members
  • Develop own levels of knowledge and FLL Leadership skills
  • Ensuring that all-manufacturing / packaging  equipment is operating correctly in order to achieve optimum efficiency
  • Ensure that highest quality and safety standards are maintained at all times within the area. Lead/Coach manufacturing / packaging personnel and help build a good working Team Environment
  • Optimize raw material / component usage
  • Be responsible for informing the Maintenance/Automation, IT and Technical depts. of any issues that may be impacting production within the area
  • Contribute to programs of continuous improvement in relation to all aspects of the manufacturing & packaging processes within the area

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Adherence to all EHS/Quality standards ‘Lead by Example’
  • Conduct formal / informal EHS audits / checks on a daily / weekly basis
  • Generate Accident Reports & participate in Accident / Incident investigation
  • Manage the area during any unforeseen situations
  • Responsible for enforcing and confirming procedures are in place and effective for controlled substances
  • Fire Alarms/Accidents / Incidents/Chemical Spillage’s etc.
  • Participate in Health & Safety improvement programmes
  • Ensure Adherence to GMP guidelines
  • Conduct daily review of documentation associated with Manufacturing & Packaging
  • Ensure Adherence to validation protocols
  • Maintain computerized records associated with the Dept.
  • Ensure all on line documents are being completed in a timely manner & review complete same
  • Direct Supervision and control of all operations
  • Monitor Time keeping/Breaks/holiday cover/Performance, initiate corrective action with the operator & communicate to the Prod Manager.
  • Monitor attendance & review with Production Manager on a routine basis
  • Responsible for performance management on shift supported with 2 hourly Gemba's and rapid response issues
  • Responsible for effective shift handovers ensuring clear updates on last 24 hrs and direction on what's happening in their shift
  • Responsible for ensuring training and competency on their shift is being effectively managed
  • Responsible for employee engagement and feedback on performance providing recognition and constructive feedback as required
  • Communicate with the Production Manager & Maintenance Supervisor on plant status issues/operator issues
  • Lead and promote active participation with DE's/ Continuous improvement projects / GPS /5S, Process confirmations, etc.

Required Knowledge / Education / Experience:

  • Leaving certificate
  • Proven Computer literacy skills/Experience of working in a team environment
  • Acquired knowledge of operation of line equipment
  • Pharmaceutical knowledge
  • Needs to have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Needs to be able to deliver effective communication
  • Effective communication skills are essential to this role within the core team which consists of Managers//Facilitators/Technician/Operators and with other supports within the Manufacturing Value Streams.
  • There is an expectation that any interaction /communication with fellow Employees, Contractors or Visitors will be conducted in a respectful and courteous manner, being open honest and consistent.
