Job Overview

As the Grants Manager I (GMI) at AltaMed, reporting to the Director of Grants Management (DGM), the Grants Manager I (GMI) administers a portfolio of low-to-moderate complexity awards under the guidance of the Senior Grants Manager and/or Director of Grants Management. This role focuses on acquiring basic knowledge and executing core grant management responsibilities, including monitoring program deliverables, tracking expenditures, maintaining compliance with the 2 CFR 200 Uniform Guidance and other funder requirements, and preparing standard reports. GMI collaborates with internal teams to ensure grant-funded activities remain on track and compliant, while developing professional-level skills in portfolio management, budget tracking, and cross-departmental coordination. The position requires a basic understanding of grant life-cycle management, 2 CFR 200 Uniform Guidance, and funder-specific policies, and it provides opportunities to handle increasingly complex awards.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, public administration, accounting, or related field, OR one year of grant-related experience; OR HS diploma and two years of relevant experience.

  • Background in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field such as Public Health is desirable, but not required.

  • Public or nonprofit sector experience preferred.

  • Familiarity with legal procedures and language is desirable, but not required.

Compensation

$70,304.00 - $87,880.00 annually
