Role Summary

The Flowserve Graduate Engineering Trainee Program is an elite opportunity for emerging future engineers to fast-track their career while leveraging the education received through their degree programs. Most participants start in a design drafter or sales support representative role. During their initial assignments they are also provided mentoring from senior engineers to help support their development and the accelerated movement into future roles.

Responsibilities

  • Learn about Flowserve’s industry, products, competitors and operations within our business units.

  • Be an open learner, working through assignments that are focused on exposing you to the fundamentals of engineering through our design drafting or sales support teams.

  • Challenge yourself to drive change and deliver outcomes through the contributions to your team.

  • Perform work that is varied and complex, under direct supervision. Constantly applying knowledge of functional concepts and prior experience to work assignments.

  • Work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring effective communication and collaboration across varying business units.

  • Maintain and develop technical and other interpersonal skills.

  • Design Drafter Participants: Work through a product design process from beginning to end including gathering all relevant information each assignment, reviewing the inputs, understanding the scope, and completing the assigned task by meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

  • Sales Support Participants: Lead coordination efforts on applicable aftermarket quotes while ensuring close collaboration and communication with all stakeholders. Review customer specifications and documents to apply current Flowserve technical and commercial products and drive tactical customer proposals in addition to supporting strategic offerings.

Requirements

  • Completed diploma/degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Chemical Engineering

  • Proficiency with basic Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Desire to develop engineering skills through operational projects

  • Strong organization and work planning skills

  • Self-motivated and effective collaborator

  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings / documents

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Work well with people in other departments and with customers

  • Hands on experience in pump assembly, repair and/or servicing

  • Proficient in 3D modelling (solidworks) and 2D drafting

  • Conversant with GD&T and drafting standard ANSI Y 14.5
