The Systems Engineering Division (SED) offers unparalleled expertise in systems engineering to the U.S. government and various public and private agencies, universities, nonprofit organizations, consortia, and commercial companies involved in the advanced development and application of space systems. From systems CONOPs and architecture development to system design and analysis, mission assurance, cost and schedule assessment, and economic market analysis, SED leverages a vast array of engineering and business disciplines across a dynamic portfolio of space programs and national challenges spanning the total space system lifecycle.
The Aerospace Mission Assurance Strategy Office (MASO) leads Aerospace in developing mission assurance for the range of space systems and applications, which include rapid acquisitions, new technologies, and new acquisition constructs. The office focuses on enterprise-wide mission assurance approaches, Mission Assurance as a Service (MAaaS), and process improvements for mission assurance. The Project Engineer (Project Engineer - Enterprise Systems Engineering) will be responsible for: supporting the advancement of mission assurance practices, working across the corporation and the enterprise to cultivate collaboration and integration, managing and disseminating corporate wisdom, and helping to bring a broad technical perspective to hard enterprise systems engineering problems.
This full-time position requires 100% onsite work in El Segundo, CA, or Chantilly, VA.
What You’ll Be Doing
Support customers at the cutting edge of space programs, enabling faster execution and smarter, risk-informed decisions by adapting mission assurance approaches
Assist in shaping the future of mission assurance by helping define the path forward and informing corporate-level investment decisions
Coordinate diverse subject matter experts to provide thought leadership and develop innovative mission assurance approaches
Support connecting insights across programs by capturing key themes, lessons, and best practices and applying them to drive mission success enterprise-wide
What You Need to be Successful - Poject Engineer - Enterprise Systems Engineering
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in math, science, or engineering from a recognized institution or equivalent relevant experience
7 years of relevant professional engineering / scientific experience including program office and systems engineering of space systems or similar systems
Experience in systems engineering, program management, and / or the ability to integrate multiple technical viewpoints into cohesive systems view
Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences and ability to summarize complex information for executive level communication
Ability to work effectively with Aerospace peers, internal and external customers, senior staff, and in a team setting
Occasional travel required
This position requires a current and active TS/SCI clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
Advanced degree in engineering, science, math, or another discipline that supports mission-level or enterprise-wide problem solving
Hands-on experience with launch, ground or space systems (hardware and/or software)
Aerospace Engineering and Technology Group (ETG) experience
Direct customer experience within their program area supporting acquisition and other customer needs
Active SAP clearances
