EDEM 501. Global Higher Education

Course Description: 

Examination of higher education systems around the world, investigating how key recurring and topical issues such as governance, funding, and access vary across global contexts. Educational equity and inequalities within and between higher education systems and introduction to alternative ways of thinking about post-school learning.

Position Summary:  

This requisition is for one (1) position, at 60 hours for the term, in the Department of Integrated Studies in Education for Summer 2026.   

Course dates are May 7, 2026, June 18, 2026.

Effective dates of appointment are May 4, 2026, to July 3, 2026.

  

Responsibilities may include:  

-Marks assignments and exams following set guidelines: 

  • Completes grading keys and provides detailed feedback.

  • Completes grading by specific deadline. 

  • Maintains records of grades by entering them into MyCourses and/or excel files. 

​-The list of functions outlined above is representative and not a complete and detailed list of tasks which may be performed by an incumbent.  

-May need to attend one or more classes (Tuesdays & Thursdays, 5:35 pm - 8:25 pm)  

  

Qualifications:  

  • Master's or PhD student, enrolled at McGill 

  • Knowledge and experience of course content.  

  • Ability to grade in French and English is an asset.  

  • Bilingual is an asset.
