The GPU SW Performance Team is looking for a GPU SW Engineering Intern to work on profiling and optimizing 3D applications for Intel GPUs (both integrated and discrete).

 

The sub-team you will be joining focuses on improving 3D game performance on Linux. This is done through analysis automation, developing optimizations for our GPU driver and reducing its CPU overhead.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing internal tools and profiling systems
  • Analyzing 3D application performance by profiling and workload analysis
  • Analyzing large data sets of profiling results, to recommend what optimizations to focus on

Qualifications:

We welcome applications from candidates with:

  • Candidate must be pursuing a BS/MS degree in Mathematics, Data Analytics, Physics, Computer science or any other related field. Student status is a must. Preferably for next two years (minimum 12+ months).

  • good knowledge of C / C++ and Python,
  • familiarity with developing and debugging,
  • ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English.


It would be an advantage if you had interest/knowledge and would like to develop your skills in:

  • Development for Linux
  • one or more graphics or compute APIs (Direct3D11, Direct3D12, OpenGL, Vulkan)
  • Visual Studio

The Software and AI (SAI) Team drives customer value by enabling differentiated experiences through leadership AI technologies and foundational software stacks, products, and services. The group is responsible for developing the holistic strategy for client and data center software in collaboration with OSVs, ISVs, developers, partners and OEMs. The group delivers specialized NPU IP to enable the AI PC and GPU IP to support all of Intel's market segments. The group also has HW and SW engineering experts responsible for delivering IP, SOCs, runtimes, and platforms to support the CPU and GPU/accelerator roadmap, inclusive of integrated and discrete graphics.
