JOB SUMMARY
Progress Residential is hiring a summer Government Relations Legal Intern. The Internship will provide a unique experience and invaluable look into our growing portfolio of single-family properties across the US and how we operate and manage these assets. The internship will accelerate your learning and development by providing you with a strong foundation upon which to understand the Single-Family Real Estate business as you develop your career. Program participants will receive real-world training and participate in networking and learning opportunities in an office environment. The internship will support the Government Relations team on federal, state, and local work.
The summer internship will generally begin in June and end in August (10 weeks).
Analysis and track federal, state, and local legislation
Assist in preparing legal documents and analysis.
Provide assistance in compliance and regulatory matters affecting property management operations.
Participate in legal meetings and provide and Conduct legal and legislative research and analysis on matters related to property management, real estate, and landlord-tenant law.
Administrative support as needed.
Help maintain the Government Relation's department’s database and filing system.
Engage in special projects and perform other duties as assigned by the legal team.
Currently enrolled in an accredited Law School
The internship is designed for results-oriented and entrepreneurial candidates with a strong academic background, preferably in business or real estate.
Applicants should be self-motivated, creative, disciplined and exhibit a demonstrated interest in real estate law or property management.
Experience with MS Office suite and knowledge of Salesforce or related systems.
Strong presentation skills
Ability to network and develop strong relationships
Detail-oriented and highly organized
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
