The Personal Injury Paralegal role at Jody D. Peterman, LLC is crucial for maintaining the high standards of thoroughness and client care that our firm is known for. This position supports our mission by managing key paralegal tasks, thereby freeing attorneys to focus on strategic legal advocacy. You will have a direct impact on client cases, ensuring timely progression and thorough documentation, which are critical to achieving successful outcomes.

 

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Medical Records Management: Request, track, and organize medical records and bills from providers and vendors; summarize records and assist in preparing medical timelines or narratives.
  • Discovery Support: Draft preliminary interrogatory responses and requests for production; coordinate with clients to gather answers and documents.
  • Demand Preparation: Compile medical records and bills and assist in drafting demand letters for attorney review.
  • Litigation Support: Schedule depositions and case events; assist with document production and case preparation. Submit electronic court filings.
  • Client Communication: Maintain proactive contact with clients to gather updates, obtain documentation, and provide case status updates.
  • Systems Management: Maintain organized case files and notes in Clio and internal document systems.
  • Workflow Management: Manage deadlines and high-volume case tasks while following established SOPs and contributing to process improvements.


What we’re looking for: 

              

  • Legal Experience: 2–3+ years with personal injury cases in a U.S. law firm.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Clio, Microsoft Office, and Gmail.
  • Remote Work Readiness: Ability to work effectively in a remote environment using digital tools, maintaining clear communication, organization, and responsiveness. Must be available to work U.S. Eastern business hours (8:00 AM–5:00 PM), Monday–Friday.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage high volume and strict deadlines.
  • Communication Excellence: Clear, professional communication with clients and team.
  • Problem Solving: Initiative to address issues and propose solutions independently.
