Your Role: Global Manager, Farm Animal Sustainability Monetization

As the Global Manager, Farm Animal Sustainability Monetization, you will lead Elanco's worldwide efforts to drive and monetize sustainability initiatives through a variety of funding opportunities in key geographies and species. You will be a pivotal leader within the Elanco Farm Animal Sustainability team, responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing strategies that explore, create, and execute monetization opportunities through Elanco Sustainability Projects, global carbon markets, government incentives, and other innovative schemes. This role ensures economic viability for producers while advancing Elanco's comprehensive 4-Pillar Sustainability Strategy (Innovation, Analytics, Value Creation & Advocacy). You will also manage a team dedicated to these critical objectives, including strategic account managers who focus on delivering monetization opportunities through food companies, retailers, packers and processors.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and execution of Elanco's global sustainability monetization and GHG reduction strategies across all species, ensuring alignment with the overarching 4-Pillar Sustainability Strategy.

  • Team Management & Development: Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing global strategic account team, providing clear direction, mentorship, and performance feedback to foster growth and achieve strategic goals.

  • Global Stakeholder Engagement & Strategic Account Management: Cultivate and manage strategic relationships with key global stakeholders, including carbon market developers, government bodies, private funds, processors, packers, NGOs, and other organizations. Apply Strategic Account Management (SAM) principles to effectively engage with and secure commitments from both buyers of carbon credits/incentives and partner organizations, ensuring long-term value creation.

  • Program Development & Execution: Oversee the identification, submission, and execution of government incentive contracts, coalition strategies, and alternative monetization schemes that support on-farm GHG reduction.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with internal teams such as the dedicated local commercial teams, Government Affairs, Corporate Communications, R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Regulatory to ensure seamless integration and successful execution of sustainability initiatives and product launches (e.g., Bovaer).

  • Market & Policy Expertise: Serve as a global subject matter expert on sustainability, GHG emissions (including methane), carbon markets, and relevant government policies across all livestock species, providing strategic insights and guidance to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Advocacy & Communication: Lead global advocacy efforts and communication outreach to enhance Elanco's and the broader industry's credibility in sustainability, developing compelling materials for diverse audiences.

  • Business Value Creation: Ensure robust business strategies and value propositions for Elanco, customers, and partners when deploying funding allocations or launching new sustainability-focused products and services.

  • Third-Party Management: Identify, onboard, and manage third-party consultants and partners to augment internal capabilities and accelerate strategic objectives globally.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in sustainability, marketing, or business development within the animal health or agriculture sector, with a significant portion in a leadership or managerial role.

  • Proven experience in leading and managing cross-functional teams and projects in a complex, fast-paced global environment, including experience with Strategic Account Management or key account development.

  • Exceptional strategic thinking, leadership, and communication skills (written and oral).

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage complexity, and drive results independently and through others.

  • Strong understanding of global food animal production systems.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (preferred qualifications):

  • Experience with global carbon market development and implementation.

  • Deep understanding of global food supply chain certification and processes.

  • Strong financial acumen, negotiation skills, and consultative selling experience, particularly in a Strategic Account Management context.
