The Team:

Our Strategy team is pivotal in defining and executing the corporate strategy roadmap for S&P Global. We align across divisions and functions to establish a unified strategic direction. As a leader, you will help drive both short and long-term strategic ambitions in collaboration with divisional and functional strategy leads. The team is proficient in defining strategic opportunities and priorities, translating them into financial and investment implications, including portfolio reviews and acquisitions, ensuring robust steer on organic and inorganic levers. The team's responsibilities include updating the Board of Directors, conducting cross-divisional and enterprise-wide strategic reviews, and leading Competitive Intelligence and our Gen-AI Strategy initiatives.  Your colleagues include the Head of M&A and Ventures and you are part of the Global Finance Team which include SVP’s in Finance and the CFO’s of our respective divisions.

Key Success Elements:

  • Support the SVP and team to:

    • Deliver meaningful industry and market insights and facilitate successful Board meetings.

    • Unite enterprise-wide teams (incl. Divisional and functional leadership) to develop and execute strategic initiatives

    • Effectively manage enterprise-wide goals and metrics through robust set of roadmaps, key results and scorecards.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Shape and articulate S&P Global's strategy in a compelling narrative tailored to key stakeholders including Board of Directors

  • Conduct strategic reviews to identify, prioritize and enable execution of key enterprise-wide strategic priorities across divisions (e.g., business cases, investment and resource allocations, financial forecasts)

  • Conduct market analysis and competitive intelligence to inform strategic decisions.

  • Drive the development and delivery of Enterprise annual goals and scorecards, preparing performance reviews for the Board.

  • Collaborate with executive leadership and CFOs to align strategic goals with financial objectives.

  • Assist to Identify growth opportunities and assess risks to drive outsized business performance.

  • Manage multiple initiatives on strategy, planning, and new business development.

  • Foster cross-functional collaboration and innovation to ensure successful strategy implementation.

  • Serve as a critical business adviser, guiding the organization to unlock potential within our evolving client base.

  • Act as change agent and grow talent within and outside the strategy team

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $207,060 to $369,465. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in the financial services sector, management consulting (in the areas of strategic and business planning, or in corporate development/ business development roles.

  • Advanced degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.

  • Proven track record of leading successful strategic initiatives and transactions.

  • Experience with Senior Executive and Board of Director presentations.

  • Strong strategy consultancy, analytical, and modeling experience.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of our industries, clients, and relevant processes.

Key Soft Skills:

  • Ability to navigate complex organizations efficiently.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.

  • Strategic thinker with a proactive problem-solving approach.

  • Collaborative work style across diverse teams and departments.

  • Innovative thinker, open to brainstorming, and comfortable with opposition.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with global markets.

  • Strong network within the finance and investment community.

  • Experience partnering with FP&A, Alliance teams, and divisional Strategy teams.

  • Customer, investor, and/or capital markets-facing experience.

  • Ability to drive change within a global organization.
