How You Will Contribute

  • Establish and operate field quality strategy across the Americas (North, Central, and Latin America).
  • Manage a team of Field Quality Engineers and contract auditors, assigning measurable operational activities.
  • Implement and measure field installation quality metrics using reporting platforms such as Power BI.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives and support new product introduction, including installation materials and test sets.
  • Ensure installations meet Ciena and customer standards through audits (field, remote, desktop).
  • Govern field service bulletins, root cause analysis, corrective and preventative documentation.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Regional Services teams and service partners to align quality expectations.

The Must Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications or equivalent experience.
  • 10-12 years of experience in engineering, installation, and/or project management.
  • Expertise in Telcordia quality standards and COE design specifications.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with geographically diverse teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of AT&T TP-76300 and 400 standards is ideal.
  • Experience in optical network installation (DWDM).
  • Six Sigma background preferred.
  • Experience managing teams of 10-20 direct reports.

Nice to Haves

  • Familiarity with rack, cabinet, and shelf installation standards for optical and electrical cabling.
  • Ability to lead teams across diverse cultures and languages.
  • Strong analytic skills to perform trend analysis and recommend corrective actions.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Visio, or Power BI.
  • Process-oriented with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain focus in a fast-paced, multi-task environment.

Pay Range

The annual pay range for this position is $120,400 - $192,200. 

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
