The Principal Electrical Safety Engineer holds a meaningful role in safeguarding people, equipment, and operations throughout Micron’s worldwide presence. This position acts as a senior technical expert, directing electrical safety initiatives, advising on high-risk equipment choices, and shaping results across engineering, EHS, and supplier groups. You’ll work with considerable independence and make decisions that withstand technical, regulatory, and audit examination.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and oversee global electrical and equipment safety programs and standards
  • Act as Micron’s technical expert for electrical and equipment safety, covering complex and high-risk systems
  • Consistently interpret and implement SEMI S2, NFPA 79, and IEC 60204-1 across sites and suppliers
  • Lead and approve electrical safety documentation reviews and third-party assessments
  • Influence safe-by-design outcomes through cross-functional and supplier engagement

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 10 years of experience in electrical safety, equipment engineering, maintenance, or EHS engineering
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex electrical safety evaluations and decisions
  • In-depth understanding of SEMI S2, NFPA 79, and IEC 60204-1
  • Strong ability to interpret electrical schematics, control systems, and safety architectures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in semiconductor or advanced manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with global conformity schemes such as NRTL, CE, or CB Scheme
  • Experience supporting global equipment safety governance or corporate EHS programs
  • Exposure to functional safety concepts and safety-related control systems
  • Experience with high-voltage electrical build
