Are you ready to lead a team that ensures data integrity and drives impactful decisions? As the Data Quality Assurance Team Lead, you will spearhead the development and execution of data quality assurance activities, safeguarding our data assets while maximizing their value. This role involves leading a dynamic team within Global Operations, where you will split your time between providing strategic direction and hands-on involvement in data profiling and quality assurance tasks. Collaborate closely with data governance managers to align policies with regulatory requirements and enterprise strategies, ensuring our data is reliable and secure.

Accountabilities:

  • Data Governance Strategy and Operations: Develop and lead the Data Quality Assurance Framework, contributing to the Global Data Governance strategy.
  • Apply deep subject matter expertise to solve complex business issues and influence senior stake holders.
  • Manage Data Quality Assurance forums and cross-functional forums.
  • Define and report on performance of data governance processes, standards, quality, and compliance.
  • Data Policy, Compliance, and Risk Management: Design and implement data policies balancing benefit and risk.
  • Find opportunities for policy innovation and improvements.
  • Provide expertise to achieve compliance with data policies and mitigate risks.
  • Implement compliance checks to ensure adherence to policy.
  • Data Standards and Quality Management: Lead development of Data Quality strategy and execution across functions.
  • Drive adoption of data quality tools and process simplification using AI.
  • Develop Data Quality metrics and guidelines, ensuring continuous reporting and multi-functional adoption.
  • Leadership, Improvement, and Change: Contribute to defining mission, vision, strategy, goals, roadmap, and metrics for the function.
  • Lead change initiatives for data literacy, culture, and compliance.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Information/Data Science, Informatics, computer science, economics or related subject area – or equivalent number of years of experience.
  • Significant experience and deep domain expertise within a data quality assurance.
  • Demonstrated experience of data quality assurance, data profiling and advanced data analysis and collaboration with data governance managers (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience of successful implementation of simplified and improved ways of working.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a diverse, distributed team, within and across functions. Experience with global working and across cultures.
  • Experience of Business/IT partnering for the implementation of Data quality measures.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills with the ability to influence others to achieve objectives.
  • Preferred experience from Global Operations or working in pharmaceutical manufacturing w. supporting functions.
  • Proficient knowledge and experience with regulated and/or legal environment and requirements (e.g., GxP, data privacy and security).
  • Proven change management, interpersonal, assertiveness and negotiation skills.
  • AI enabled Data Quality tooling.
  • Snowflake.
  • AWS.
  • Power Bi/Visualization tools.
  • Data Profiling and data analysis.
  • Data Wrangling.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Masters or Ph.D in Business Administration, Information/Data Science, Informatics, computer science, economics or related field. Applicable domain knowledge, e.g. Therapy Area or Function.
  • Experience in life sciences and healthcare.
  • Experience working across the drug research and development lifecycle.
  • Intimate knowledge of relevant key business processes.
  • Network of relevant contacts and relationships, including external links.
  • Data Governance and Data Management education and certifications.
  • Applied data management and data science skills, including experience with related tools.
  • Experience in data ownership or stewardship.
  • Proven track record of publishing relevant data governance and policy topics in peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and other scientific proceedings.
  • SAP Capability
