The Global Category Manager – Performance Additives plays a critical role in developing and maintaining a comprehensive view of cost and spend data related to chemicals that enhance the quality and performance of building materials. This role supports the Global Category Leader and collaborates closely with internal stakeholders from across the globe to deliver data-driven insights that optimize purchasing strategies across multiple global categories.
YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE
Support the Global Category Leader in developing and refining the global category strategy for Performance Additives.
Consolidate and analyze cost, spend, and market data using analytical tools to visualize complex datasets and support strategic decision-making.
Utilize Tableau dashboards and other visualization platforms to deliver actionable insights and communicate effectively across cross-functional teams.
Prepare for and actively participate in strategic supplier meetings with global construction chemicals suppliers.
Support and preparation of global frame contract negotiations with key suppliers for Performance Additives.
Drive the development of sourcing strategies for Chromium VI reduction in cement, supporting sustainability and regulatory compliance goals.
Identify and share best practices related to Performance Additives across countries to foster innovation and continuous improvement.
Realize synergies across regions by leveraging competencies, product bundling, volume consolidation, market intelligence, and benchmarking—particularly focused on opportunities within Europe.
YOUR PROFILE
min. 5 years of professional experience in Procurement, preferably in the building materials industry or other producing industries; vendor management practices
Proven experience in procurement, category management, or strategic sourcing within the chemicals or building materials industry.
Good understanding of procurement processes, including supplier selection, negotiation design, contract negotiation, and performance management, in both buyer and international supplier markets environments
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Tableau, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint and other data visualization and analysis tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (min. English, German is an additional advantage)
Excellent negotiation and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
Ability to work effectively in a global, diverse, cross-functional environment.
Knowledge of sustainability initiatives and regulatory trends related to construction chemicals is a plus.
Minimum bachelor's degree in business-administration or industrial engineering
Resilience and willingness to learn and grow
Willingness to travel up to 20%, with flexibility for national and international business trips
