The Global Retail organisation is end-to-end responsible for the three retail segments: Private Individuals, Private Banking & Wealth Management and Business Banking. As an important pillar, ING Business Banking services 1.9 million clients ranging from Self-Employed till Midsized Corporates across 8 countries.
You will report to the Lead of the Strategy Office for Global Business Banking and work closely with the Global Head of Business Banking on executing the strategy and driving our key priorities. As part of the Strategy team, you will work on a diverse set of strategic and commercial topics, giving you the opportunity to shape our execution roadmap and build a strong network within the international Business Banking organisation. You will collaborate closely with country Heads of Business Banking, Global Product Leads and local leadership teams.
Given the wide range of backgrounds in our team, we are looking for someone who brings strong expertise in the tech and digital product domain, blackbelt and is fascinated and hands-on on AI related improvements, always having the customer at heart. This capability will further strengthen our ability to execute strategy in an increasingly digital Business Banking environment. You are able to work autonomously while thriving in a collaborative team setup.
Your responsibilities will include:
Manage and drive a broad variety of strategic topics, with the ability to lean into tech delivery and (digital) product development when relevant.
Ensuring performance tracking and follow-up on key programmes and initiatives, focusing on delivering tangible client impact and commercial results.
Providing senior management with high-quality insights to track strategy execution and support decision‑making.
Acting as a linking pin between business units and central functions, enabling effective and efficient execution.
Supporting day-to-day business management activities and senior management requests.
Key skills we are looking for:
Understanding of tech delivery and AI applicability and how this can drive commercial growth, including improving customer journeys, driving digital scaling and product development and performance improvement and tracking.
Capable of distilling primary issues from secondary details, enabling you to prioritize and set focus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior stakeholders.
Understanding of tech delivery and/or product development within banking or fintechs.
Strong resilience and the ability to navigate through ambiguity. Capable to provide structure and direction in complex or dynamic settings.
High level of discretion and confidentiality.
Personal Profile
Master’s degree.
More than 6 years of experience in banking, finance, strategy/consulting, (fin)tech delivery or investment banking.
Experience in the Business Banking domain is highly valued.
Strong analytical and data‑driven problem‑solving skills, blackbelt affinity with excellent attention to detail.
Proven experience in delivering strategic projects and preparing high‑quality management information.
Comfortable working with Excel and PowerPoint.
Fluent in English.
Able to independently synthesise complex topics into clear management briefings and decision‑making materials.
What we offer?
This position is based on a 40 hour working week. The position is intended as a job scale 11, ultimately depending on your qualifications and work experience. The work location is Amsterdam, Cedar.
