About the role:

We’re seeking a Finance Associate to support the Finance Business Partnerships function at Chime! In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring budgeting and forecasting accuracy while driving forward high-impact strategic and financial initiatives. You’ll partner closely with business leaders and finance team members to provide insights, influence decision-making, and help shape Chime’s financial strategy. 

Supporting the R&D organization, you will collaborate with R&D leaders, analytics, procurement, and a host of other partners to drive accuracy and predictability in our cost forecasting. You will also help the R&D teams create the planning and budgeting process and work closely with the team to develop budget tracking and reporting. As part of your support of the Risk organization, you will support our transaction loss projection efforts by partnering with Risk and Product leadership to drive high fidelity forecasts by understanding key drivers intersecting our risk appetite and product roadmap.

On this highly cross-functional team, you will collaborate with partners across the organization to ensure alignment and accountability. You will support the bottoms-up planning and budgeting process, develop financial models to deliver key reporting & insights, and proactively identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation to streamline processes and increase efficiency across our finance workflows. We are looking for an analytical problem-solver who can break down complex problems into actionable components without losing sight of the overall strategy.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $101,000 and up to $140,000. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Develop, deliver, and maintain insightful reporting for business leadership to ensure departments are operating efficiently and within budget
  • Own and optimize the budgeting process and improve forecasting accuracy through advanced modeling to support decision-making and accountability
  • Partner cross-functionally with business leaders to support bottoms-up planning, headcount management, and strategic initiatives 
  • Leverage AI and automation to streamline financial processes, build efficiencies, and enhance reporting and forecasting capabilities
  • Provide data-driven insights to facilitate decision making and influence strategy with financial model building, reporting, process flow, and dashboard development
  • Continuously improve financial processes and tools, implementing scalable solutions that support Chime’s growth and enable smarter, faster decision-making

To thrive in this role, you have:

  • Minimum 3+ years of Finance/FP&A, investment banking, Big 4 accounting/advisory, or consulting experience
  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or other relevant field
  • Track record of budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling with strong accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong sense of ownership and commitment to quality, working diligently to navigate ambiguity/obstacles and drive projects to completion
  • Strong process-improvement mindset with demonstrated ability to leverage AI and automation to scale finance workflows and improve forecasting precision and turnaround time
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
  • Advanced G-Suite, Microsoft Excel, Word, and presentation tools (PowerPoint, G-Slides) skills required
  • Experience identifying, designing, or deploying AI-driven use cases within finance workflows (e.g., forecasting automation, reporting acceleration, variance analysis, or scenario modeling)
  • Bonus Experience: Pigment, Netsuite, Looker, Workday, SQL, Snowflake, Python/coding tools, and direct experience with R&D and/or transaction loss forecasting
