About the Role
As a Global Allocation Planner within the Supply Chain Management organization, you will play a crucial role in optimizing the allocation of products to various Harman plants and OEMs, ensuring equitable distribution and meeting OEM demands effectively. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and execute allocation strategies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and balance supply availability with OEM demands to support the company's global sales objectives.
Your Team
The role will report to the Global Supply planning Leader and potential for leading teams (2-4 members) in the future.
What You Will Do
- Develop and implement global allocation strategies for allocation of OEM demands to Harman plants that are aligned with SIOP objectives, considering demand forecasts and production capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with demand planning teams to understand regional demand variations and allocate products accordingly to meet customer requirements.
- Define standardized system usage to enable prioritization and automate allocation rules i.e. fair-share allocation.
- Utilize data analytics tools to monitor allocation performance, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide insights for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with various teams within the SIOP organization, including demand planning and supply planning, to ensure a coordinated approach to allocation.
- Identify potential allocation-related risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure fair distribution and minimize supply chain disruptions.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance allocation processes, leveraging data-driven insights and industry best practices.
- Embody the HARMAN competencies of Leadership, Collaboration, Judgement and Results Driven.
- Define strategy and Lead allocation activities for crisis modes using IBP inputs and standard fair share and work closely with Ops Procurement teams and Manufacturing units.
- Act as the Key Interface for allocation Arbitration decisions during Shortage situations and Global Task force.
- Help Analyze and track Demand and supply plans using standard tools(e.g IBP, SAP and Excel ) to ensure continuous improvement activities can be kicked off as needed.
- Act as Key user in global Organizational initiatives and represent SCM when required/assigned.
What You Need
- Applicant Shall have 8+ years of experience in the field of Supply chain & operations planning
- Bachelor/Master’s in supply chain related fields and Certifications from accredited bodies such as ASCM preferred
- Expert knowledge of automotive industry including supply chain dynamics with at least 3 years of experience within automotive tier 1 suppliers
- Proven experience in allocation planning, supply chain planning, or related roles in a global manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of allocation principles, demand forecasting, and inventory management practices.
- Proficiency in using supply chain planning software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and data analytics tools.
- Excellent analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions to optimize allocation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with regional teams and internal stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet allocation deadlines.
- Problem-solving orientation with a proactive approach to addressing allocation challenges.
- Adaptable and resilient, able to navigate changing market demands and supply chain dynamics.
What is Nice to Have
- Experience in Supply Chain Planning with the SAP IBP System
- Experience of having worked in material planning and allocation environment over the last 3 years
What Makes You Eligible
- Be willing to travel up to 5-10%, domestic domestic and/Or international travel
- Be willing to work in an office (hybrid) with close collaboration with manufacturing sites across the organization
