Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled General Project Management Senior Professional to lead and oversee complex projects from initiation to successful completion. This role involves strategic planning, resource management, stakeholder communication, and ensuring projects align with business objectives and are delivered on time and within budget.

Job Responsibilities:

* **Project Leadership & Execution:**
* Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure of multiple, large-scale, and complex projects across various Hitachi business units.
* Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and resource requirements in collaboration with stakeholders and senior management.
* Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, risk assessments, and communication strategies.
* Oversee and manage project teams, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
* Drive adherence to Hitachi's project management methodologies, standards, and best practices.
* **Stakeholder Management & Communication:**
* Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including internal departments, clients, vendors, and senior leadership.
* Establish and maintain strong working relationships with all project participants, fostering collaboration and transparency.
* Communicate project status, risks, issues, and progress effectively and regularly through presentations, reports, and meetings.
* Facilitate decision-making processes and conflict resolution among project stakeholders.
* **Risk & Change Management:**
* Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, developing contingency plans as necessary.
* Manage project changes, ensuring proper documentation, approval, and communication of scope adjustments.
* Conduct post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions to identify areas for continuous improvement.
* **Financial & Resource Management:**
* Manage project budgets, tracking expenditures, and ensuring financial targets are met.
* Allocate and manage project resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
* Monitor vendor performance and manage external contracts relevant to project delivery.
* **Strategic Alignment & Continuous Improvement:**
* Ensure projects align with Hitachi's strategic objectives and contribute to overall business growth.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements within project management frameworks.
* Contribute to the development and refinement of project management best practices and tools within Hitachi.

Job Qualifications:

* **Education:**
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, , or a related field.
* Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) is highly desirable.
* **Experience:**
* Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead project management role for complex, large-scale projects.
* Proven experience managing projects with budgets exceeding $5M and cross-functional teams of 15+ individuals.
* Demonstrated experience in various project methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and ability to adapt based on project needs.
* Experience in a global or multinational corporate environment is a significant advantage.
* Previous experience in the technology, manufacturing, energy, or infrastructure sectors is preferred.
* **Certifications:**
* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
* Other relevant certifications (e.g., PgMP, SAFe, Prince2) are a plus.
* **Skills & Competencies:**
* Exceptional leadership, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
* Expertise in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana, Primavera P6).
* Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
* Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills.
* Strategic thinking with the ability to connect project details to broader business objectives.
* Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Japanese or other relevant languages is a plus.
