Remote: This position does not require employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee’s role enables them to work off-site on a permanent basis. This position requires an employee to cover territory visits to ACDelco Direct Accounts in a reoccurring frequency.
The territory covers dealerships within the South-Central Region. The selected candidate must live within a 50-mile radius of Houston, TX or relocate to assigned territory. This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.
The Role
The General Motors / ACDelco Market Area Manager is responsible for driving growth and strengthening ACDelco’s presence across the automotive aftermarket within an assigned territory. This role partners closely with Direct Accounts (Aftermarket Parts Distributors) to grow sales, expand market penetration, and increase participation in ACDelco sales incentive and product programs.
A key focus of this position is helping Direct Accounts win more business in the automotive aftermarket through effective inventory management, market analysis, distribution growth, and sales support. The Market Area Manager works collaboratively with customers and account sales teams to ensure proper stocking, identify new opportunities, develop market strategies, and provide coaching and training that improves performance and drives results.
This role also supports Direct Accounts in executing business plans aligned with market area objectives, with the goal of increasing ACDelco’s secondary customer base and contributing to CCA’s regional and national revenue goals.
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate must demonstrate strong business acumen, independent judgment, and the ability to make sound decisions within established practices and procedures. This is a highly visible, customer-facing role that requires a proactive, strategic mindset and a passion for helping customers grow their business.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities):
Demonstrate GM core values and lead assigned inside and outside sales reps
Drive sales growth, market penetration, and new distribution opportunities across the territory
Support inventory, line additions, promotions, and ACDelco programs to grow account performance
Partner with internal teams, customers, and the Wholesale Market Area Manager to improve execution and engagement
Provide timely market feedback, reporting, training, and administrative support
Maintain strong customer relationships while supporting policy compliance, product knowledge, and warranty/core activities
Supporting Direct Accounts in growing automotive aftermarket sales
Assisting with proper stocking levels and inventory optimization
Conducting inventory and financial analysis to identify opportunities for improvement
Performing market analysis to uncover growth opportunities and improve market penetration
Identifying and developing new distribution opportunities
Supporting strategy development to help accounts grow share and profitability
Coaching and training Direct Account sales representatives to help them secure additional business
Implementing and supporting marketing initiatives, customer retention efforts, and product displays
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):
Bachelor Degree or relevant experience
3+ years automotive aftermarket experience preferred
Outside Sales experience
Ability to prioritize and deploy resources to maximize opportunities
Strong customer relationship and selling skills
High level of interpersonal and strong communications skills
Business insight and ability to identify new business opportunities
Ability to communicate product line features and benefits
Problem-solving skills and analytical abilities
Ability to develop and execute action plans
Entrepreneurial attitude
Knowledge of GM parts systems
Knowledge of computer software, MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.
The expected base compensation for this role is ($105,600.00 - $140,700.00) USD Annually. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
