The General Manager (GM), Residential Products Business is responsible for the overall P&L ownership and strategic leadership of the Residential business, encompassing HVAC, Water Heating, and Water Treatment products for the home. This leader defines the growth strategy, drives innovation, and ensures operational excellence across all functions to deliver market-leading products, services, and experiences for homeowners and trade partners.Business Leadership & P&L Ownership
Own and manage overall profitability and performance of the Residential Microenterprise, including Sales, EBIT, Cash, Pricing, Share, Mix, Total Product Cost, and COQ.
Develop and execute the Residential growth strategy to deliver sustained revenue, margin expansion, and capital efficiency.
Lead portfolio strategy, investment planning, and business case development for new product introductions (NPIs) and growth initiatives.
Drive continuous improvement in SKU productivity, cost competitiveness, and profitability through simplification and disciplined portfolio management.
Customer-First Growth & Market Strategy
Lead the team in proactively identifying emerging trends and customer needs through market insights, channel feedback, and consumer research.
Translate insights into winning products and services that strengthen customer loyalty and drive share growth across distribution, dealer, retail, and digital channels.
Partner with Marketing and Sales to develop go-to-market strategies, channel programs, and commercialization plans that differentiate the brand in the marketplace.
Build and maintain relationships with key distributors, contractors, and retailers to deepen partnerships and accelerate growth.
Innovation & Cross-Functional Execution
Lead the end-to-end NPI process, ensuring programs meet defined objectives for timing, cost, quality, and customer experience.
Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Sourcing to advance modular design, sustainability, digital integration, and product quality.
Ensure cross-functional alignment with Transformation (PMO) to deliver enterprise priorities and accelerate execution speed.
Champion simplification and modular architecture to reduce complexity and improve customer responsiveness.
Enterprise Collaboration & Alignment
Drive alignment with Air & Water Hoshin priorities and P&PD strategy to ensure Residential initiatives contribute to enterprise goals.
Collaborate with other Microenterprise Leaders (Light Commercial, Commercial, and Appliances) to identify cross-segment opportunities, shared technologies, and best practices.
Engage with suppliers, sourcing, and technology partners to deliver cost productivity, innovation, and supply reliability.
Partner with the Lean Enterprise and Transformation teams to embed standard work, data-driven decision making, and continuous improvement tools.
Leadership & Culture
Lead and develop a high-performing, empowered organization that operates with speed, accountability, and customer focus.
Foster a culture consistent with the Air & Water Guiding Principles: 1) Developing a Customer-First Mindset 2) Focusing on Simplification and Speed, and 3) Ensuring Empowerment and Accountability

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
15+ years of progressive leadership experience in HVAC, water heating, or related consumer/industrial products businesses.
Proven success managing full P&L ownership with $200M+ revenue responsibility.
Demonstrated success leading complex product portfolios and launching high-impact new products.
Deep understanding of residential markets, channels, and customer segments (homeowners, contractors, distributors, and retailers).
Strong analytical and strategic planning capability; proven ability to drive results through metrics and financial rigor.
Exceptional cross-functional leadership, communication, and influencing skills in a matrixed environment.
Entrepreneurial mindset with strong bias for action, courage to challenge assumptions, and ability to lead through ambiguity.
Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment that values learning, adaptability, and results.
Willing and able to travel to customer, supplier, and manufacturing sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA preferred
Experience leading modular product portfolios, connected product strategies, or digitally enabled customer solutions.
Experience in cost optimization, value engineering, or Lean process improvement.
Proven ability to simplify complex business processes and accelerate decision-making.
Track record of building high-performing teams and developing future leaders.
