What you will do
We are seeking an experienced and highly polished facilities leader to oversee operations at the Ford Energy battery manufacturing plant managed by Johnson Controls, located in the Elizabethtown area. This is a high‑touch leadership position requiring a confident, poised, and polished executive who can professionally represent Johnson Controls in a client environment focused on continuous improvement, operational excellence, and high performance.
The role supports a long‑term Operations & Maintenance contract focused on the delivery of hard services for the facility’s MEP infrastructure, excluding production equipment. The primary objective is to maintain a seamless and reliable operating environment that ensures the facility consistently performs to specification and supports uninterrupted manufacturing and administrative operations.
This position is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for the site, managing complex client relationships, supporting expansion initiatives, and engaging regularly with the client’s senior leadership team. The successful candidate will lead an organization of approximately 100 personnel and will be accountable for contract governance, project execution, financial performance, and overall service delivery.
The role requires a strong blend of business acumen and technical understanding, with a significant emphasis on managing customer expectations through disciplined, transparent, and proactive communication.
How you will do it
Specific duties include the following:
Business acumen with a customer service mindset accompanied with very strong communication and people skills because you will serve as the main client level liaison for addressing operational, contractual, and financial issues.
Impeccable attention to detail and the ability to develop Performance Reports.
Delegate tasks, meet deadlines and keep the team accountable.
Serve as a role model, mentor, and valued resource.
The ability to comprehend complex contract terms and performance requirements and work closely with the customer to ensure alignment with contract requirements and operational policies.
Manage and track KPI’s.
Ensure that the quality of information entered to the CMMS is sufficient.
Administer the documentation requesting extensions and relief for repair work.
Review and proactively establish procedures.
Oversight of the day-to-day and long-term work activities.
Manage supervisors and staff which includes hiring, promoting, recognition, performance improvement plans, and monitor performance objectives.
Train project employees and administer corporate policies, procedures, and standards to ensure that employees have the required technical, interpersonal skills and morale to meet and exceed the expectations of the Customer.
Provide technical and management guidance to the team.
Ability to read blueprint and as-built drawings.
Ensure all Operations & Maintenance (O&M) work is performed in accordance with the Technical Provisions and approved documents.
Manage change order requests.
Post construction warranty management.
What we look for
Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical engineering or business.
Experience running a business in a facility management discipline with 10 years or more experience.
Strong and proven client relationship and communication skills (written and verbal).
Strong leadership skills in order to maintain a healthy culture oriented to Customer Satisfaction and Continuous Improvement.
Leading customer meetings.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project) with strong overall computer literacy.
Directing, planning, developing, and implementing strategic and operational plans.
Management of multi-disciplinary teams, working groups.
Managing to meet contract technical requirements.
A robust understanding of preventive maintenance management and repairs for HVAC, Boilers, Chillers, Pumps, CRAC Units, electrical systems, fire alarm systems, security systems, and building automation systems.
Knowledge of the following trades/skills: electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
Working on mission critical projects.
Knowledge of OSHA codes and regulations.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $112,100 - $168,400 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
