We have an exciting opportunity at nbn for a General Manager Network Strategy. This role will report to the Chief Technology Officer.
A bit about your role
As the General Manager Network Strategy, you will shape and steward nbn’s long‑term network vision, guiding strategic direction across five‑ to twenty‑year horizons. You will act as the primary architect of the network roadmap, bringing together innovation, technology and enterprise priorities to support sustainable growth and long‑term competitiveness. With an end‑to‑end view across all network domains, including fibre, HFC, fixed wireless, satellite, core and transport, you will ensure strategic coherence and clarity across a complex and evolving landscape.
In this people‑led role, you will work closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders to ensure strong governance, thoughtful risk management and effective resource allocation across all network strategy programs. You will monitor progress, drive continuous improvement and communicate outcomes, enabling informed decision‑making at every level of the organisation. A key part of your impact will be translating deep technical direction into compelling, business‑focused narratives that connect strategy to purpose and support a future‑focused choices for nbn and the communities we serve.
A bit about you
You bring a deep Telco background, with experience across engineering, architecture or operations, and a strong understanding of how complex networks evolve over time. You are an experienced people leader who empowers technical experts, creating space for collaboration while providing clear direction and purpose. Your strength lies in your ability to work fluently across technical domains and to translate technical strategies into accessible, business‑relevant stories that resonate with diverse audiences.
As a leader, you are comfortable engaging in high‑visibility conversations with senior executives and stakeholders. Your approach is thoughtful and inclusive, balancing strategic foresight with practical delivery. With your curiosity, resilience and commitment to collaboration, you will help nbn navigate the future of connectivity and continue delivering trusted, high‑quality network outcomes for Australia.
