Job Summary: You will serve as a senior technology expert for the MRO Engineering Department/Depot Support Team of FLTREADCEN EAST

Major Duties:

  • You will provide technical leadership, advocacy, direction and program evaluation of Science and Technology tasks.
  • You will serve as the additive manufacturing and repair technology subject matter expert.
  • Provide technical expertise and creativity to the formulation, implementation and guidance of technology programs responsive to emerging requirements which advance the state-of­-the-art technology related to Naval Aviation.
  • You will facilitate new or emerging technology application in the solution of existing Naval Aviation problems and the development of advanced systems.
  • You will implement and foster maximum interaction and technology exchange between NAVAIR organizations and for focusing the broad and diverse technical efforts into a cohesive and efficient Naval Aviation science and technology program.
  • You will serve as a consultant and advisor to higher authority and represents NAVAIR at DoD technical meetings, symposia and /or as a key member of ad hoc study groups.

Qualifications: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following. one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional GENERAL ENGINEER demonstrating expertise in Fleet Support Team (FST) and/or Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Engineering, developing program sustainment and acquisition engineering support, effectively managing technical and professional services required to sustain a weapon system, and evaluating new approaches, guides and standards to make engineering decisions.
