General Compliance Officer

General compliance officer is is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate mandatory reports to regulators through the Regulatory Report in SharePoint system, monitoring new and draft regulations, supporting the implementation of the compliance program, providing gap analysis and monitoring the gaps and/or their action plans are closed in timely manner, and active involvement in any regulatory project/initiatives.

This role requires an ability to interpret laws and regulations and translate them into operational requirements, familiarity with compliance monitoring and regulatory reporting process, ability to communicate regulatory concepts clearly to stakeholders. The role requires strong analytical skills, independence and objectivity, detail-oriented, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced compliance environment.

Position Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance

  • Responsible for Regulatory Compliance Management Program in coordination with related business unit, ensuring that all entities under Manulife Indonesia comply with prevailing regulations especially for insurance and pension fund regulations.
  • Provide gap analysis and monitor the gaps and/or their action plans are closed in timely manner to ensure the Company’s compliance with the prevailing regulations.

Monitoring and Regulatory Reporting

  • Establish effective mechanisms to track the progress of business and support business units in complying with the new regulatory requirements and/or recommendations of regulators and auditors including carrying out Compliance QA and Testing Program that conducted by Local Compliance and Regional Compliance.
  • Act as person in charge for each business unit to have the latest update to maintain and preserve the accuracy of Archer Database and Regulatory Reporting system under SharePoint Database Compliance so that the Database Compliance will always indicate the latest facts.
  • Manage all mandatory reporting to Regulators which involves PIC in across business unit.
  • Maintain transparent, timely and accurate responses to supervisory inquiries, letters or examinations.
  • Timely dissemination of any new regulatory updates and policies procedures for regulatory areas.
  • Conduct Compliance review on customer documents.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Criminology, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • More than 2 years of experience in general compliance, regulatory compliance, or regulatory functions.
  • Experience in insurance, pension fund or other financial institutions is highly preferred. Having a LOMA certification is an advantage.
  • Ability to prepare regulatory summaries, compliance notes, reports, and presentation materials.
  • Team player, tech-savvy, quick learner and self-starter.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in bahasa Indonesia and English.
  • Highly analytical thinking, detail oriented, and willingness to stay updated on regulatory changes.
  • Proactive, reliable, and able to meet tight timelines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining objectivity.
