C.H. Robinson is seeking a Gateway Manager to join our Thailand Gateway air freight team. In this key position, you will be responsible for the development and management of the BKK Air Gateway, including oversight of warehouse operations and overall gateway performance. You will lead local airfreight development initiatives and work closely with country, regional, and global stakeholders, to ensure effective execution, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth.

Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of this position consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
Operations:
- Maintain a comprehensive and current database, including core trade lanes, service-level pricing, and carrier schedules.
- Ensure carrier strategies are integrated with Gateway operations, with a focus on lane-specific development and performance.
- Partner with local and regional sales teams to design and support tailored, competitive logistics solutions for customers.
- Develop and manage reporting tools to track, measure, and analyze gateway performance, efficiency, and service quality.
- Proactively resolve service disruptions and escalations involving airlines, ocean carriers, ports, CFS facilities, and third-party logistics providers.
- Maintain and continuously improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practice documentation.
Communication:
- Consistently communicate relevant industry updates and process improvements to keep the team informed and aligned.
- Provide expert guidance to team members on navigating complex consolidation scenarios and operational challenges.
- Collaborate closely with regional leadership and air/ocean service line managers to ensure alignment with broader company and regional strategic initiatives.
- Engage proactively with the C.H. Robinson overseas gateway network to coordinate core lane carrier selection and evaluate carrier performance.
Strategy:
- Partner with pricing teams to drive volume growth while maximizing profitability through strategic rate alignment and market insights.
- Collaborate with branch leadership to resolve operational challenges and implement continuous process improvements.
- Design, implement, and maintain robust processes that ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery across gateway operations.
- Conduct onsite visits to regional branches to promote awareness, understanding, and adoption of gateway service capabilities.
- Work alongside the gateway leadership team to “activate the network” by championing gateway services and fostering cross-functional collaboration.
Customer Service:
- Act as a role model in cultivating strong, strategic relationships with carriers, origin teams, and destination partners is essential to the success of our clients’ transportation and supply chain operations.
- Proactively troubleshoot and develop innovative solutions for complex logistics and operational challenges.
Required Qualifications:
Required:
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum 6 years of transportation industry experience
- Ability to travel up to 10% (domestically and internationally)
Preferred Qualifications:
- University Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- At least 10-15 years professional background in the freight forwarding industry with leadership roles.
- Good knowledge of air freight market and logistics/supply chain industry.
- Air Freight Product, Warehouse Operations and P&L/Financials.
- Maintains successful business partnerships with customers and airlines/brokers/GSAs relationships.
- Drives process/operational improvements and efficiencies and maintains highest service quality standards.
- Demonstrates strong business acumen, strategic orientation, dynamic relationship building, negotiation, influencing and interpersonal skills.
- Drives effective change management.
- Competent customer knowledge on RFQs, pricing and contractual management.
- Strong decision making, risk management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Committed to deliver effective performance under pressure and demanding situations.
