The FX & PM Advisor will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and strategic execution of Julius Baer’s foreign exchange (FX) and precious metals (PM) business across the Middle East region. This position will focus on enhancing revenue generation through tailored FX solutions, supporting relationship managers, and ensuring seamless delivery of premium trading services — both by expanding the Direct Access Client (DAC) segment and working with IA / RMs on their UHNW clients’ requirements.
This role requires a deep understanding of the macro markets, an in-depth understanding of all relevant product variants (Cash, FX Swaps, OTC derivatives and FX structured notes), allowing the individual to advise clients and help risk manage client’s FX exposures.
YOUR CHALLENGE
- Client Coverage & Revenue Growth: Partner with Relationship Managers and Investment Advisors to identify and execute tailored FX solutions—including spot, forwards, options, and structured products. Drive cross-selling of FX and Portfolio Management solutions to expand client wallets.
- Regional Product Expertise: Adapt high-conviction trading ideas from Switzerland and Asia into locally relevant, compliant solutions. Present market-driven product recommendations in regional morning meetings and leadership forums.
- Market Intelligence & Innovation: Provide actionable feedback to GPS management on regional trends, client demands and competitive landscape. Identify opportunities for new structures (e.g., gold-linked, Sharia-compliant) and digital trading enhancements, working closely with local stakeholders.
- Thought Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement: Deliver market insights and training to internal teams, collaborate with Marketing on client-facing content, and represent the bank at industry events to strengthen our FX brand presence.
YOUR PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced qualifications (CFA, CAIA, FRM) highly desirable.
- Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in FX sales, trading, or advisory roles within private banking or wealth management, preferably with exposure to ultra-high-net-worth clientele.
- In-depth understanding of cash FX, OTC derivatives (vanilla and structured), precious metals (especially gold), and FX structured notes
- Demonstrable track record of generating FX revenues in a client-advisory setting.
- Prior experience working in or serving the GCC markets preferred; familiarity with local regulations (e.g., SCA guidelines) and cultural nuances strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Bloomberg, Reuters, and CRM systems.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with fluency in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
