Major Duties:
Qualifications: Requirements Continued...Probationary period. As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be required to serve a 1 year probationary during which your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest will be evaluated.This probationary period is an extension of the appointment process and therefore requires the agency to determine if continued employment would advance the public interest, meet the organization goals and mission of the agency, and/or otherwise promote the efficiency of the service. Ability to do the work of a Laborer (Motor Vehicle Operator) without more than normal supervision (screen out). Work experience performing the following duties: manual Labor work which requires frequent lifting and moving of objects and materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasional lifting and moving of objects weighing up to 100 pounds or more with assistance; and uses a wide variety of light hand and power tools. Operate heavy power equipment such as chainsaws, lawnmowers, string trimmers, weed whackers, brush cutters, chippers, etc.) to clear brush and maintain grounds and roads. Driving and towing equipment over Federal, state, and county roads and city streets in all traffic conditions. Erect signs, barriers, dig ditches, shovel dirt and asphalt, loads/unloads heavy supplies, organize and clean work area, keep vehicles, trailers, and equipment clean and operable; performing general landscaping and grounds maintenance; operating and maintaining motor vehicles up to 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight, and assisting higher level journeymen trades people in maintenance related tasks, and a valid state driver's license is required .Additional information on the specific qualification requirements for this position are found in the Job Qualification System for Trades and Labor Occupations.
