The Fresh Products Costing Manager is responsible for overseeing and analyzing the cost of goods sold for the category, as well as ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the data used to support informed and strategic decision-making. The role acts as a technical and operational leader, ensuring consistency, quality, and continuous improvement of costing processes within the category. The position works closely with Operations Finance, plants, Distribution, the Center of Excellence, the R&D team, and other internal partners.

Salary scale 006: $ 100 900$ to $126 100 (Base salary will be determined based on academic background, experience, training, and skills related to the position.)
Your day-to-day responsibilities:
Supervise and participate in cost of goods sold (COGS) analyses, ensuring timelines are met (cost updates, new product costing, price increase mandates, mass balance, yields, etc.)
Recommend, validate, document, and clearly communicate cost assumptions and variance analyses
Explain and operationalize cost of goods concepts for internal stakeholders
Act as the finance subject-matter expert for raw materials within the category (yields, manufacturing processes, support, etc.). Serve as the main point of contact for the R&D team to support innovation-driven product development initiatives
Work closely with operational finance teams on manufacturing costs and allocation methodologies
Collaborate with the Centre of Excellence to ensure alignment of cost assumptions between Canada and the U.S., and during the implementation of system and process improvements
Ensure consistency in cost update methodologies within the ERP system (SAP), safeguarding data integrity and compliance with internal controls
Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the frequency of cost updates, as well as cost visibility and understanding for the category
The level of rigor expected:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically in cost analysis or manufacturing finance
CPA designation, an asset
Knowledge of dairy manufacturing processes and raw milk and by-product management, an asset
Strong analytical and synthesis skills
Excellent communication, simplification, and collaboration skills
Demonstrated leadership, autonomy, curiosity, and rigor
Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
Advanced proficiency in Excel
Knowledge of SAP
