Important before you read on

  • Mastering the Dutch language both verbally and in writing is a prerequisite for applying.
  • We are looking for someone with a high degree of flexibility. This role is primarily performed during evening hours and weekends. You will be expected to work almost every weekend, including both Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Experience working in a call center environment is essential, as telephone contact with customers is a major part of your daily work.
  • During the initial period, it is required that you work fully from the office for at least six months.

Your work environment

You will be working within ING's Supercircle Fraud Service Center, contributing to protecting our customers against fraud and scams. Your main task is to minimize the impact of fraud on customers and ING.

What you will do

As a Fraud Alert Specialist, you will be responsible for handling system-driven alerts, detecting irregularities indicating possible fraud or scams, managing inbound and outbound calls, and performing various back-office tasks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Handling fraud cases where ING customers have suffered financial damage
  • Implementing preventive measures to avoid further harm
  • Assessing and allocating compensation
  • Performing both real-time and non-real-time tasks

Who are we looking for

We are seeking someone with a proactive attitude and a strong determination to get things done. You should be motivated, precise, and flexible, enjoying working in a self-organizing team. Attention to detail and a commitment to the highest quality are crucial to you. Additionally, you should be resilient to stress and able to handle peak workloads. Swiftly transitioning between different workstreams is also within your capabilities.

We are specifically looking for a candidate with demonstrable experience in the fraud domain. You understand all facets of the fraud profession, both in terms of content and in direct telephone contact with victims of fraud. You know how to act decisively, empathetically, and professionally in sensitive situations.
Experience in a call center environment is a must. You are confident in handling phone conversations and know how to communicate professionally and service-minded, even under pressure.

  • Strong communication skills, attentive listener, and service-oriented
  • Stress-resistant
  • Skilled in problem analysis, quickly getting to the core
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, sound judgment, and highly accurate in documenting research data in systems
  • Ensuring the highest quality of risk management
  • Proficient in both Dutch and English, verbally and in writing

Basic requirements

  • Possession of an HBO/WO diploma
  • WFT-basic certification (or willingness to obtain it)
  • Affinity with the main laws and regulations regarding fraud, scams, and financial-economic crime
  • Availability from Monday to Sunday between 7:00 and 24:00
  • Willingness to work fully from the office during the first six months
