The Opportunity
This position works out of our Wiesbaden site in the Abbott Diabetes Care - Abbott GmbH. We’re focused on helping people with diabetes manage their health with life-changing products that provide accurate data to drive better-informed decisions. We’re revolutionizing the way people monitor their glucose levels with our new sensing technology.
This role will lead a high-impact team responsible for delivering standardized, accurate, timely, and actionable financial insights and reporting across Abbott Diabetes Care’s international operations. This role is central to enabling data-driven decision-making across 57 countries, supporting both regional and global leadership.
Your Tasks:
- Serve as the subject matter expert for international financial reporting, consolidations, and analytics processes
- Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of reporting tools and systems (e.g., Dodeca, Power BI, SAP, HFM, One Margin), including the integration of AI-driven technologies like Microsoft Co-Pilot
- Ensure consistency and accuracy in P&L, investment, and KPI reporting across all international markets and sub-regions
- Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership across Area HQ, global finance, and country-level teams
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through deep analysis of monthly actuals, LBE (Latest Best Estimate), and MEC (Month-End Close) deliverables
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve data discrepancies streamline reporting cycles, and enhance forecasting accuracy
- Manage and mentor a team of Financial Analysts, ensuring high performance, professional development, and alignment with business priorities
- Own the consolidation and delivery of all international financial reporting packages, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with internal standards
- Act as a key liaison between Area HQ, global finance, and regional/country finance teams, ensuring alignment and transparency in financial communications
Your Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional certifications (ACCA, CPA, CIMA) strongly preferred
- Six to Eight years of progressive experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting within a multinational environment
- Understanding of the Divisional financial process
- Ability to interact with all levels of management
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop high-performing teams
- Must have excellent system skills, aptitude and experience, especially with multi-dimensional reporting systems (e.g. TM/1, Dodeca), SAP, HFM and Excel
- Fluent in English - fluency in a second language a plus
- Cross cultural/international experience and a willingness/openness to international mobility
- Strong analytical skills as well as critical thinking skills to identify and share business implications of financial results
