West Vancouver Materials Recovery Center (West Van), a Waste Connections company, is looking to hire a highly motivated & safety driven, Forklift Operator, to work at our Transfer Station in Vancouver, WA (6601 NW Old Lower River Rd, Vancouver, WA 98660)
Pay range is $27-$29/HR DOE
Schedule is Monday - Friday
Shift is 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM with some overtime as needed.
Safety Sensitive: Yes
Qualified candidates must have Forklift operating experience.
REQUIRES ability to efficiently & safely operate Forklift.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operate forklift or other equipment as needed.
Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
Completes daily reports on pre and post trip inspections of equipment.
Yard and facility maintenance including debris and clean up.
Spotting Trucks.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Specific duties can change on the daily basis as operation needs change.
Working outside in all weather conditions.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, such as moving mechanical parts which require following basic safety precautions.
Ability to perform a physically demanding job at times with no helpers.

Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic knowledge of computer skills.
Pre-employment requirements for this safety sensitive position include drug panel screening & criminal background check.
