This position relieves intake (milk receiving) two days per week and the cookers three days per week for the operator’s regular days off. Two of the shifts are on 3rd Shift and three are on 2nd Shift. This position has one double back per week that requires getting off @ 0630 after working the 2nd 2200-0630 shift & reporting back to work 7.5 hours later at1400. While performing these jobs this relief person is expected to adhere to all of the same SOP’s, guidelines, procedures, parameters & demands as the regular operator. This position requires mechanical abilities and an understanding of cheese making equipment. This person must effectively monitor cheese making & milk receiving equipment including but not limited to; cooker/stretchers, rotary molder/chillers (RMCs), analyzing equipment, clarifiers, silos, valves, pumps and cleaning equipment. This person is also required to follow Appendix N procedures & record keeping practices in relationship to antibiotic screening of all incoming milk loads. Communicate with down stream operators to ensure accurate identification of individual vats & recipes as well as milk loads. Record & interpret data to make informed decisions and / or recommendations for optimum cheese making conditions. Follow make plans and make adjustments and changes to equipment as necessary. Clean all related equipment as needed to ensure sanitary conditions. Perform assigned Master Sanitation duties. The successful applicant must possess a valid California Department of Food & Agriculture Samplers & Weighers license and a valid Appendix N certificate or have the ability to obtain them.
Specific job selection criteria:
CDFA Samplers & Weighers license. Within 6 months of promotion must apply for a Sampler’s & Weigher’s license and have within 1 year to obtain and up to 3 attempts to pass
California State Appendix N certification
Pay Range: $30.67 - $36.14
