Job Summary

Operate forklift to transport material. Handles and transports glassware pallets, carton materials, cartoned glassware as designated. Utilizes scanners to track and keep accurate inventory levels.

MAIN POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operates truck controls to activate forks, special attachments, movement and direction of vehicle as required.
  • Handles and transports pallets, carton materials and cartoned glassware as designated.
  • Tows trailer type train for movement of materials when required.
  • Maintains necessary records such as material and location cards, etc.
  • Checks oil, water and battery levels in vehicle daily and reports mechanical malfunctions to Foreman.
  • Responsible for all general safety and house rules, good manufacturing practices and job-specific safety procedures.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Individuals will be trained Monday-Friday 7am-3pm and then assigned to a crew to work rotating shifts. Rotating shift work involves working 7 consecutive days of an 8am-4pm shift followed by 3 days off, then working 7 consecutive days of a 12mid-8am shift followed by 2 days off and then working 7 consecutive days of a 4pm-12mid shift followed by two days off and then starting back on the 8-4 shift. This amounts to working 21 days with 7 days off in a 28-day cycle.

EMPLOYEE QUALIFICATIONS:
