What We Want

The purpose of this position is to educate future coaches in foundational principles in Collegiate Football Strength and Conditioning, provide hands-on experience in coaching, operating performance technology, and much more. Monetary compensation for this position will be discussed upon hiring and requires a one-year commitment to the Texas A&M Football program.

Responsibilities

Safety:

  • Assists staff in the implementation of assigned sports performance programs. Sets up and breaks down training equipment. Maintains and upkeeps the facilities to ensure a safe training environment.

Coaching:

  • Actively coaches and teaches and demonstrates proper movement and lifting techniques. Coaches small training groups independently.

Compliance:

  • Maintains continual and thorough familiarity with all applicable NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations. Establishes and ensures communication and enforcement of rules and regulations for all staff members and student workers supervised.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • One year of prior experience in college athletics working directly with student athletes in a strength & conditioning setting.

Required Licenses and Certifications:

  • Actively pursuing or obtaining a degree in an Exercise Science related degree, working towards a certification with a recognized governing body, and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic lifting and Powerlifting movements.

  • CPR, Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and First Aid certification through the American Heart Association within one year of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current certification by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA) or National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Potential candidates must possess a strong work ethic and character, great energy and enthusiasm, in addition to the ability to demonstrate effective organization and communication skills.
