Cashier/Stock Worker

Position Summary/Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to handle campus card, cash, credit, and various other transactions for students, Sodexo employees, GCU Staff and visitors.

Accurately operate the cash register/POS and complete transactions.

Provide support to the retail operation which includes setup, maintaining supplies and products, and assisting in cleanup and closedown

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities/Essential Functions:

• Operate a cash register
• Accurate ring of proper PLU for sale items and accurate barcode scan
• Provide the highest quality of customer service at all times.
• Maintain proper security of cash at all times
• Understand and follow Sodexo cash-handling policies and procedures
• Assist in locating, reconciling and verifying the accuracy of transactions
• Prepare for food service which could include wiping down counters, using a microwave, prepping veggies, and handling hot foods.
• Setup and stock the beverage coolers, grab n go items, service ware and condiments.
• Setup stations with entrees, soups, salads, breads, and any other food products
• Replenish all the above items as needed
• Clean, and sanitize all workstations, counters, tables and any other equipment
• Attend all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training
• Comply with all Sodexo HACCP policies and procedures
• Comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures
• Report all accidents or injuries in a timely manner
• Participate in regular in-store huddles
• Maintain inventory, stock and requisitions
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Equipment Used and Responsibility:

Rolling Carts to transport items throughout the store and pick-up of Strictly to go Items

Milk Crates, Storage Bins, and Coolers to transport food items

Dolley for CO2 tank movement

Step Ladder to reach high areas safely

Knives, Utensils, gloves, & cutting boards for food prep

Qualifications:

• Willingness to provide excellent customer service.
• Strong Organizational skills and attention to detail
• Dependable and punctual
• Ability to maintain confidentiality but also be a team player
• Willingness to work hard, learn, and be very flexible
• Must be available to work all shifts but especially nights and weekends

Saturday: 730a-1230p, 1230p-530p, 530p-1030p

Sunday: 130p-530p

Monday : 1230p-530p

Tuesday: 730a-1230p, 1230p-530p

Wednesday: N/A

Thursday: 730a-1230p, 1230p-530p

• Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program. 

• Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.

• Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
