Major Duties:

  • NONAPPROPRIATED FUND POSITION DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Food and Beverage Manager BUSINESS TITLE: Food and Beverage Manager (Palms) FLSA: Exempt (Supervisory) JOB SERIES: 1101 PAY LEVEL: NF-03 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This position assists Club Managers to oversee the day to day operations of the Dining Room and Lounges. The Food and Beverage Manager interfaces with the Catering Manager, Executive Chef and the Club Manager to provide the highest quality of sales and service to patrons. Assists Club Manager to oversee dining/bar operations in accordance with established policies, procedures and guidelines. Supervise Bartenders, to include assigning and distributing work, coaching, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring employees; approving and disapproving leave, recommending and completing personnel actions, completing performance reviews and signing timecards, training employees, keeping abreast of and actively supporting the principles of the EEO program, and prevention of sexual harassment. Ensures reservations made for the dining area and lounges are set by Dining Room and Bar personnel, and coordinates with kitchen staff to make sure they are aware of said reservations. Works closely with waitstaff, bartenders and supply to ensure they have necessary supplies and equipment. Demonstrates work methods and provides work-related guidance to new employees. Conducts on-the-job training and instructions. Answers staff and customers questions on procedures, policies, and instructions. Resolves simple informal complaints of customers and employees and refers more complicated issues to supervisor. Reports workplace injuries immediately to the immediate supervisor. Ensures work meets productivity goals and employees follow security, safety and housekeeping rules. Expedites customers food orders during meal service; working closely with kitchen and waitstaff to ensure professional, prompt and responsive service is provided to all guests. Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye contact. Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as required. This is a white-collar position where the incumbent may be required to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.

Qualifications: BASIC REQUIREMENT: Three years of experience in food and beverage service-related industry that demonstrates knowledge of the fundamental principles, methodology, and techniques involved in the operational management of assigned food and bar programs. OR A combination of education and experience to demonstrate progressively more administrative and professional work involved in food, beverage, and bar operation. Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule to include weekends, holidays, early and late shifts. Must be able to perform prolonged standing, walking, reaching, lifting, and carrying objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of commonly accepted business practices industry trends, policies and procedures. Knowledge and skill to perform regular or periodic reviews/inspections of food and/or bar practices Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with internal and external customers, using proper tact, diplomacy and professionalism. Ability to lead and supervise subordinate workers. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software and applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. This activity is a Drug-free workplace. The time period for MSP eligibility begins 30 days before the military sponsor's reporting date to the new duty station, if accompanied, or at any time thereafter during the tour. All military and DoD civilian spouses are required to provide a copy of their sponsor's orders during the application process.
