Overview:

The Fleet Program Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, operational management, and financial oversight of Synchrony’s corporate fleet program. This role serves as the primary point of contact and coordinator across multiple internal teams and external partners to ensure the effective sourcing, acquisition, maintenance, compliance, safety, and disposition of company vehicles. The manager drives cost efficiency, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation throughout the fleet lifecycle, supporting Synchrony’s business units and executive leadership.

The role will also support a corporate hoteling and flexible office space management app (Cloudbooking and Deskpass). The role focuses on improving the desk/room booking experience, managing space inventory and booking policies, and partnering with the software vendor, Facilities, Real Estate, IT, and Security on workflows and integrations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fleet Budgeting/Financials: Partner with Finance to plan, approve, and manage annual fleet spend, POs, and invoice reconciliation to P&L budgets.

  • Acquisition & Lifecycle: Manage vehicle selection, ordering/approvals, executive vehicles, and retirement plans with Sourcing, FMS, and OEMs.

  • Contracts/Vendors: Support OEM negotiations, manage sourcing partnerships, and maintain vendor relationships to optimize cost and performance.

  • Compliance & Licensing: Ensure registration and insurance renewals and meet state/local requirements; serve as DMV contact as needed.

  • Safety & Risk: Run the Fleet Safety Program (driver monitoring, MVRs, incident reporting, training) to reduce risk.

  • Driver Support: Lead driver communications, exceptions, escalations, and training for a compliant, positive experience.

  • ESG & Reporting: Provide emissions data and support sustainability initiatives with ESG partners.

  • Governance: Maintain policies; annual reviews, and safety assessments for continuous improvement.

  • Incidents/Legal: Make accident-related decisions and coordinate investigations with Legal/HR and law enforcement.

  • Operations: Track monthly metrics; manage fuel cards, tolling, maintenance approvals, and vehicle movements to control cost and improve efficiency.

  • Stakeholders: Collaborate with Finance, HR, Legal, Regulatory/Licensing, Benefits, ESG, Training, and external partners (FMS, OEMs, insurers, law enforcement).

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Stakeholder Engagement: 

This role partners with multiple internal teams including Facilities, Finance, Human Resources, Legal, Regulatory & Licensing, Benefits, ESG, and Training, as well as external providers including Fleet Management Services (FMS), OEMs, insurers, and law enforcement.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Experience managing Vendors and Vendor processes

  • Financial experience with budgets and purchase order management

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to analyze data and drive process improvements

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience in Fleet Management preferred

  • Experience in Vendor Negotiation preferred

  • Program Coordination experience preferred

  • Knowledge of vehicle regulatory compliance and safety programs preferred

  • Familiarity with fleet management systems (e.g. Xcelerate) preferred

  • Familiarity with Supplier Portals (e.g. Coupa) preferred

  • Familiarity with Workspace Management systems (e.g. Deskpass) preferred

  • Experience with a Cloud Booking System preferred

Grade/Level: 07

                                      

The hourly rate range for this position is $25.50 - $35.00/hr USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience or skill level.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
