About the opportunity:
Join the St Vincent’s Private Hospital Brisbane team at our spectacular Kangaroo Campus. We are seeking an enthusiastic Ward Clerk for a 5-month part-time contract (25 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8:00am–1:00pm, ending 30th June 2026). In this role you will be pivotal in ensuring smooth administrative operations and a seamless experience for our patients and visitors.
As our Ward Clerk you will provide essential support across the ward administrative functions. A snapshot of your duties include:
Greeting patients, visitors and other customers
Liaising with nursing staff to provide accurate information to patients and families
Preparing, maintaining, and managing patient files, medical records, and appointment lists
Providing clerical and administrative support to the NUM and nursing team
Coordinating with allied health, qld xray and various hospital departments to support patient care, treatments, and transfers

A professional phone manner, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work under pressure
Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
The ability to problem-solve, take initiative, and work both independently and collaboratively
Previous hospital administration experience is desirable
