Major Duties:
Qualifications: Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: 1. Possess directly related work experience in planning, supervising, administering or carrying out a sports program that included a variety of individual and team sports and guiding participants in developing the skills needed for participation in sports activities and teaching the techniques of various sports. 2. Experience that includes the demonstrated ability to manage and operate complex multiple fitness facilities. The related work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. Highly Desirable: Candidates who possess a combination of education (an undergraduate in related fields such as physical education or kinesiology) and the ability, knowledge and skills to perform the duties identified above. MWR Sports and Fitness Administration Course and Lifeguard Management. Highly Desirable Criteria Fitness Facility Manager NF-0030-03 Candidates who meet three or more of the following will be considered Highly Qualified and given priority over all other applicants. 1. Possess an undergraduate degree in a related field (physical education, kinesiology, etc.) or minimum of 12 months in a NF-03 Lead Recreation Assistant position or higher. 2. At least 12 months of hands-on experience supervising or leading operations in a fitness center, recreation facility, or comparable high-traffic public service environment. 3. Demonstrated experience conducting daily facility inspections, maintaining fitness equipment, enforcing safety standards, and completing required logs/incident reports accurately and on time. 4. Proven ability to lead staff, manage shift operations independently, resolve customer issues professionally, and uphold facility policies and standards consistently.
