Northrop Grumman is looking to hire a Firefighter 1 (EMT-B Certified) to our team of diverse professionals on site at our Palmdale, CA location!

Essential Functions:

The Firefighter 1 will be responsible for the following:

  • Performs assigned firefighting and emergency response services tasks with established protocols and standard procedures.
  • Participates as a member of the emergency response unit in providing fire suppression and prevention services, medical services, hazardous spill response and specialized rescue operations in accordance with NFPA, Federal, State and local standards.
  • Conducts inspections of fire extinguishers and fire systems (e.g., sprinklers, fire hydrants). May operate and maintain emergency response vehicles.

This position may be used to identify candidates with skills and experience for positions within Northrop Grumman that frequently become available.  Candidates who express interest may be considered for future positions at Northrop Grumman.

Basic Qualifications for Firefighter 1:

  • High School diploma
  • Must have: Current EMT-B certification, California or National Registry.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain multiple program accesses (PARs). These must be obtained as a condition of employment.
  • Must be able to pass NFPA Firefighter medical exam/physical

Preferred Qualifications for Firefighter 1:

  • Currently posses HazMat Awareness and Operations Certification
  • Currently posses Firefighter 1 Certification
  • Ability to obtain Airport Firefighter within 1 year

Primary Level Salary Range: $43,400.00 - $72,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
