Job Description

Our company promotes renewable energy projects with the aim of preserving the global environment, ensuring stable power supply, and community engagement by owning and operating wind power assets over the long term—from site selection, project development to procurement, construction, operation, and decommissioning of wind farms. This position plays a central role in the crucial area of electricity sales generated by wind farms. You will be responsible for a wide range of practical operations related to electricity and certificate trading within the asset management of wind farms. This includes everything from daily transaction management to monthly and annual reporting and financial settlement operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Electricity trading in wholesale power markets through energy managers

- Settlement with energy managers and minimization of imbalance charges

- Settlement of FIP premiums

- Issuance and trading of non-fossil certificates and provision of certificate value to off-takers

- Differential settlement with off-takers, i.e. virtual PPA

•Future Responsibilities May Include:

- In-house development of balancing capabilities (including bidding in the wholesale power market)

- Retail operations and utilization of physical PPA

- Introduction of time-shift and arbitrage using batteries

-When developing new businesses aforementioned : lead planning, internal and external stake-holders coordination, and execution

Other Asset Management Duties

- Budget (expenses and investments) planning and management, power generation (including capacity factor), and sales

- Inventory management

- Execution and management of grid connection contracts with system operators

- Operation and management of project finance contracts

- Relationship building and lease contract management with landowners

- Safety management and HSE planning and implementation at power plants

- Acquisition and management of various permits and licenses

- Coordination with regulatory authorities and municipalities

- Execution of various contracts including issuing purchase orders

- Insurance placement, renewal, and claims procedures

- Development of operational manuals for power plant operations

- Community engagement

- Management of contracts with wind turbine manufacturers (TSA, MSA)

- Building in-house O&M structure independent from OEM via MSA takeover

- Operation and management of BOP contracts

- Planning and implementation of retrofits of wind turbines including main components and control systems

- Maximizing power output through SCADA data analysis

- Collaboration with other departments (development, construction, accounting, finance, legal, etc.) and headquarters (Chicago)

Qualifications

•Required:

- Experience in electricity trading in the Japanese wholesale power market at a power plant-owning company (e.g., former electric power companies, IPPs, gas companies, trading houses)

- Experience in electricity retail at a power plant-owning company or PPS

- Ability to communicate in English

•Preferred:

- Experience in managing power generation, receiving or transforming facilities at power plants or manufacturing factories

- Practical experience in development, construction, or operation of wind projects

- Technical service or sales experience at wind turbine manufacturers

- Experience in wind turbine component manufacturers, wind energy ISPs, or asset management companies

- Experience in overseas power markets (wholesale or retail)
