About the role

We’re looking for a Financial Specialist for our growing team!

This unique operational finance role focuses on FP&A and decision support, providing you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance budgeting and forecasting processes, streamline operations and improve efficiencies. You will also provide analyses that yield insightful recommendations, driving strategic decision making.

What you’ll do here:

  • Manage internal monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting by collaborating with various departments such as other finance teams
  • Conduct variance analysis on expenses by comparing actuals with budgets and forecasts to drive insights
  • Analyze and understand underwriting results in collaboration with actuaries
  • Support our business units in the management of their operational expenses
  • Participate in the financial systems and accounting processes improvement initiatives
  • Participate in the annual budget process
  • Take a critical look at the controls in place and the various accounting treatments related to our operations
  • Make recommendations and suggestions to management based on your expertise
  • Simplify, standardize, secure and increase controls of different work files


What you bring to the table:

  • Post secondary education in accounting or finance
  • CPA (or a designation equivalent to CPA) is required
  • Minimum 5-years experience in either audit, corporate finance, FP&A - is required
  • Strong proficiency in using Excel is required
  • Working knowledge using Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of the P&C insurance industry is an asset
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism in English and French is required due to the necessity of regular interaction with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
