State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) is the fourth largest asset management firm globally. Global Funds Management is responsible for all treasury, fund administration, and reporting for our registered and unregistered funds globally.  This includes valuation, board liaison and reporting, financial and regulatory reporting, taxation, expense accruals, service provider oversight, and managing new product launches and life-cycle events.  As such we are looking for an VP to manage a team and provide oversight of fund audits and financial reporting for our global products. Candidates must evidence a working knowledge of US, EMEA and Canadian financial reporting principles and standards.  Candidate must also evidence significant knowledge of audit practices, regulatory frameworks and fund structures. Successful candidates will demonstrate a continuous improvement and innovation mindset and be technologically savvy.

Why this role is important to us

Due to the ever-changing regulatory environment and increased scrutiny placed on accounting standards and transparency, a need has arisen for an individual with a strong audit/financial reporting background to join the team.

The individual will take the lead in coordinating audit engagements across multiple audit firms and global regions.  The individual will lead a team of financial reporting analysts tasked with oversight of the quarterly, semiannual and annual financial statement compilation process.  Working with both internal and external colleagues the individual will identify staffing needs across different engagements and assign staff as necessary from the team.  Focusing on cross training and staff development while ensuring accurate financial statements and timely audits, the individual will be looked at as a subject matter expert in regard to US, UK, and Lux GAAP as well as international financial reporting standards.

The strategic objective of the role is managing a team of analysts to ensure the funds audits and financial statements are completed timely and accurately complying with all respective accounting standards and applicable regulatory requirements.

What you will be responsible for

As a VP of Financial Reporting

  • Be responsible for managing, contributing to and facilitating annual fund audits across the globe
  • Working with external service providers to actively plan milestones through the audit process
  • Ensure appropriate staff allocation within different audit engagements globally
  • Coordinate audit request across SSGA, external custodians and transfer agents
  • Successfully facilitate publishing and distribution of completed financial statements to clients.
  • Setting and managing deliverables for quarterly, semi annual and annual financial statements
  • Manage a team of financial reporting analysts.
  • Support management in contributing to the achievement of Global Funds Management and Local KPIs
  • Stay abreast of regulatory developments and best practice standards with regards to existing and new accounting pronouncements
  • Contribute to enhancement and harmonisation of the global financial reporting framework owned by Global Funds Management.
  • Ensure timely completion of all audit engagements.
  • Provide support and advise local Designated Persons and Senior Managers on financial reporting matters as necessary.
  • Create, maintain, review and update appropriate procedures, policies and controls.
  • Ensure timely execution of all BAU processes with a focus on minimising enterprise risk.
  • Take a technological approach seeking better more automated and efficient workflows,

  • Powerpoint, Excel and Word proficient
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Knowledge of global accounting regulations and products

Minimum Salary:

zł282 000 Annual

The minimum salary quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate ultimately works outside of this primary location, the applicable minimum salary may differ.​

Salary will be determined based on factors such as the position, type of work performed, individual skills, job description, working hours, diligence, initiative, self-management, length of employment, availability, and the quantity and quality of work delivered, as well as other objective and non-discriminatory criteria relevant to State Street employees.​

In addition to salary, employees are eligible to be considered for discretionary annual performance-based awards.​
