Financial Planning (FP&A) Analyst TEMP Spain

Temporary contract for 11 month aprox.

  • Team player and collaborator to perform metrics, including cost / benefit analyses and evaluation of internal vs. external spend

  • Maintain and update financial forecasts, under the guidance of senior team members, in SAP environment

  • Develop financial reporting

  • Develop and run monthly global planning and analytics models for forecast-to-actual variances, and provide useful insight to management;

  • Build and develop Excel files with direct SAP BPC data pulls to efficiently update financial results and PowerPoint presentations management reporting and expense analysis

  • Write, analyze and review commentary for key business drivers and explaining financial results

  • Conduct expense analysis on a monthly basis for effective expense management.

  • Deliver ad hoc financial analysis as required to support management decision making.

  • Develop quantitative analyses for Finance leadership, including cost / benefit analysis, actual / forecast variance analysis and other program performance metrics

  • Liaise with staff in Enterprise FP&A, Expense Management and Controllers as necessary to develop quantitative analyses and presentations

This role is responsible for conducting and documenting moderate to complex financial analysis projects. The role works under general supervision.

Job summary:

60 %  - Conducts moderate to complex forecasting, financial analysis and performance reporting.
40 %  - Determines the best approach to analyzing and synthesizing data and makes recommendations regarding the use of key business metrics.

Core Purpose of the Role

  • Decision support to product and Iberia geography leader

  • Monitor and drive production and profitability (production, UW, expense)

  • Deliver Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews

  • Suppport Iberia lines of business hitting profit and GOE targets through direct business partnering support

  • Reporting and monitoring of business performance vs plan, and analysis of KPIs and quality of business mix

  • Management reporting and forecasting

Key Responsibilities

  • Decision support for Iberia at product level

    • Drive Iberia product growth/remediation through a true partnership with country leadership team

    • Enable and challenge strategic initiatives through actionable insight

    • Support rationalisation of Management Information and drive focus agenda to shifting capacity where more/less emphasis

  • Managing business partnering through :

    • Strong connectivity across the business (local and beyond) and broader finance group (local & regional)

    • Provide constructive challenge/insight around profitability and process improvement

    • Upskill finance knowledge across business partners

    • Decision support capability

  • Own distribution strategy, metrics & tracking

    • Support quality/usage of distribution metrics to drive profitable growth

    • Focus on business strategies such as industry sectors and risk mix

  • Drive GOE efficiency via close monitoring/challenge/creativity

PROFILE

- Relevant experience in Finance Planning & Analysis, in a similar position.

- Economics, Finance or Business Administration university degree

- Fluent in English

- High level in the use of Excel and Powerpoint

- Teamworker

- Strong skills in 'Attention to detail'

Financial and Strategic Acumen : Accomplished in engagement, partnership and cross functional collaboration at an Executive Level. Driven finance individual with in-depth knowledge of iinsurance in terms of both UW and Expenses. Highly analytical mind with ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial colleagues

Technical Skills: Strong data and financial systems knowledge (includes Excel and Powerpoint). Practical within existing data limitations and creative with new solutions. Excellent problem solving skills. Strong focus on attention to detail and desire to deliver accuracy and quality. Specialist understanding of accounting and control for insurance

Interpersonal, Team and Communication Skills : Strong interpersonal skills and great team player, with the ability to communicate effectively with impact across functions. Excellent written and oral communications (includes fluent level in English). Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to persuade, influence and convince others
