Financial Operations Senior Analyst responsible for the development, negotiation, administration of clinical trial budgets and revenue collection for the College of Medicine (COM) Center for Clinical Research Management (CCRM); oversees creation of internal budgets and negotiation of external sponsor budgets/payment terms; sets work assignments; directs collaboration with research staff and appropriate OSU departments to determine research costs for Protocol specific clinical trial activities; manages the set-up and communication to clinical teams of all budget forms needed for each trial to help ensure billing compliance, including PA005s and budget study summaries; ensures new study activation timelines are met; administers quarterly sponsor invoicing activities for studies, collects subject visit details from Research Study Coordinators, analyzes subject activity, invoices sponsors according to contract, follows up on outstanding revenue; provides quarterly financial summary information to Manager; administers/implements project budgets, reviews/approves research bills and expenses, determines departmental personnel payments, reconciles all research project expenses with general ledger, manages/oversees the trial financial close-out, assists with fiscal reporting related to project/department post award activities; implements fiscal processes/procedures that ensure adherence to appropriate internal controls and compliance with established policies and procedures; manages financial data entry into the OSUWMC CRMS database, reports monthly financial stats, and responsible for creation of CRMS study calendars; provides fiscal onboarding for new research groups: completes financial audits, trains clinical staff on all fiscal related procedures; mentors, trains and oversees workloads of new fiscal officers;


Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree with a Major in business administration or finance or equivalent experience required.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Level Degree with a Major in business administration or finance or equivalent experience required; 4 years’ experience in financial accounting or budgeting required; spreadsheet and Microsoft PowerPoint proficiency required.  Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.

Additional Desired Qualifications

4- 8 years’ experience in financial accounting or budgeting preferred; financial experience in a healthcare environment preferred; considerable research budget and contract management experience at a public academic research institution desired; experience negotiating grant budgets preferred; knowledge of OSU Office of Sponsored Programs research accounting policies and procedures desired; advanced knowledge of financial tools and software applications highly desired.
