We are looking for a Financial Lines Manager to lead our operations in Denmark and Norway. Based in our central Copenhagen office, you will play a pivotal role in driving profitable growth across our portfolio while leading a dedicated team of specialists.

In this key leadership position, you balance strategic management, commercial execution, and people development. You will act as the commercial lead for Financial Lines in your markets, partnering closely with our Distribution team to ensure AIG remains the preferred partner for our brokers and clients.

What’s in it for you?

You will join the Nordic Financial Lines Leadership Team, working closely with the Nordic Head of Financial Lines to set the strategic direction.

Here is what you can expect:

  • Leadership Impact: You lead and develop a team of 7 Underwriting Specialists (covering Cyber, PI, FI, and Management Liability) and 3 Student Workers. Your mentorship will directly shapes the next generation of talent.

  • Strategic Influence: You co-define the strategy for Denmark and Norway, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.

  • Commercial Ownership: As the commercial face of Financial Lines in Denmark and Norway, you drive high-level broker relationships and spearhead our growth initiatives.

  • Nordic Culture: You become part of a "One Nordic Team" culture that values collaboration, flat hierarchies, and "freedom with responsibility."

Your impact and responsibilities

Your role is multifaceted, bridging the gap between people management and market strategy.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • People Leadership: Coaching, motivating, and managing your team to ensure high performance and well-being. You set goals, hold development dialogues, and ensure the team has the support they need to succeed.

  • Commercial Strategy: Driving the commercial agenda for FL in Denmark and Norway. This includes pipeline building, evaluating win-opportunities, and executing marketing initiatives to increase our local presence.

  • Operational Excellence: Managing the daily underwriting operations, ensuring we meet our financial targets and maintain high service levels for our clients.

  • Portfolio Management: Overseeing the DK & NO forecast and planning in close collaboration with our Nordic Practice Leads.

  • Hands-on Underwriting: While your focus is leadership, you also engage in complex cases and maintain a connection to the craft of underwriting.

What you’ll need to succeed

We are looking for a leader who leads by example. You thrive in a fast-paced international environment and have a natural ability to build trust – both with your team and external partners.

We believe you are a match if you:

  • Are a seasoned professional with several years of experience within Financial Lines (Underwriting or Broking).

  • Have proven leadership skills (or the natural gravitas and experience to step up) and are used to setting and achieving goals for yourself and others.

  • Possess strong negotiation and presentation skills, capable of engaging with C-level stakeholders.

  • Have a strategic mindset but are willing to be hands-on when the team needs it.

  • Are fluent in English and a Scandinavian language (Danish or Norwegian is preferred).

Meet the Team

You will be based in Copenhagen, leading a local team that is fully integrated into our Nordic structure. You will report directly to the Nordic Head of Financial Lines and work alongside Practice Leaders for Cyber, PI, FI, MLC, and K&R. We are a group of dedicated professionals who believe that we win as a team.
