Responsible for all credit risk aspects of a Financial Institutions portfolio of domestic and international professional counterparties (incl. funds, brokers, corporates). Assess, analyse and structure credit requests / transactions. This includes providing detailed risk assessment of counterparties and products. Ensure that proper risk standards are implemented and adhered to at all time. Provide credit service to internal clients and work hand-in-hand with Treasury and Trading units/first line of defense to customise appropriate solutions.Analysis and assessment of counterparties and exposures (e.g. OTC derivatives)
Assessment of counterparty with regards to structural, legal & compliance and reputational risk
Determination of risk rating for counterparty
Preparation and approval of credit limits within the delegated credit approval authority (depending on risk rating and amount)
Regular review of approved limits within the assigned portfolio
Ongoing monitoring of credit exposure; resolving of collateral shortfalls and resolving limit excesses, including issuance of margin calls
Administration duties within the portfolio, e.g. updating and maintaining hierarchies of group companies, payment releases and proper credit documentation
Deputize other Credit Officers in their absence
Support relationship managers in all credit related matters and establish regular and proactive contact
Contribution in credit related projects and process improvements
Work with legal to support negotiations of standard trading agreements (e.g. ISDA/CSA, GMSLA, GMRA)
Support the calculation of the Expected Credit Losses (ECL) for the Treasury book
University degree (Business Administration or Economics) or similar education or professional work qualification acquired
At least 5 years of experience in credit risk management Financial Institutions or corporate- / investment banking
Derivatives product know-how; Fixed Income Research background would be a plus
Good knowledge of MS Office, PowerBI and other analytical tools
Independent, efficient and meticulous work method
Strong analytical skills, developed awareness in credit, legal and reputational issues
Personality with good organizational and operational skills and ability to work under pressure
Sense of integrity, discretion and solution oriented
Team player with entrepreneurial thinking, perseverance and persistence
Excellent communication skills
Fluent in English, knowledge of German is an advantage
