About the role
Effective risk management is considered pivotal to Planet and we are seeking a Financial Crime Analyst to support the continued development of our payments business.
The successful individual will support the Financial Crime Manager with Planet’s financial crime monitoring process, systems and operations, covering all parts of the payments and tax-free businesses.
The Financial Crime Analyst will be expected to engage across the business, building relationships with key internal stakeholders and provide assurance that financial crime is being effectively managed throughout Planet’s acquiring operations.
What you will do
- Conduct risk-based investigations on financial crime alerts escalated by the financial crime system in a swift and efficient manner;
- Manage your own caseload, ensuring the appropriate actions are taken on each case in a timely manner;
- Ensure all regulatory and Scheme mandated actions are completed in a timely manner, such as adding merchants to Scheme watch lists etc.
- Provide input to system rule changes, based on financial crime trends and events identified during the investigation process;
- Assist in the defence and prevention of Visa and MasterCard chargebacks & payment disputes for Planet merchants;
- Assist in the development of appropriate financial crime and review processes
- Support the wider Planet financial crime team with their financial crime review process, where required;
- Do your part to ensure that all activities comply with relevant legislation and regulation.
Who you are
- Strong academic record, preferably to degree level, supported by any relevant sector related and / or professional qualifications;
- Appropriate level of knowledge and experience of best practice fraud and financial crime risk management and governance frameworks and methodologies;
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in AML (Anti-Money Laundering) risk management, including transaction monitoring, investigations and regulatory reporting.
- Experience of working in Financial Services or Payments and a knowledge of card scheme rules related to compliance, risk and disputes, is a pre-requisite
- Ability to act as a ‘business partner’ to the organisation and not purely fulfil a box ticking mandate; the ability to provide strategic, analytical and business support;
- Excellent communication skills with the credibility to gain respect internally and, to the extent appropriate to the role, externally with people at all levels;
