Position Information

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and timely submission of the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Awards (SEFA), State Pass Through Report (SPTR), Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) and National Science Foundation (NSF) reports while coordinating with SRS

  • Complete the McIntire Stennis and Animal Health reports for USDA NIFA and working with the Project Records Team to insure accurate reporting for Agrilife Research.  Serve as back up to the Federal Financial Report and Integrated Report for USDA-NIFA.

  • Serve as liaison between the agency and Sponsored Research Services (SRS) for grant account set-ups, fiscal year activity, indirect costs, close outs and pass-thru activity, as required for the Annual Financial Report (AFR).

  • Reconcile various complex general ledgers. Complete matching and account reconciliations withing Cadency. Address and research outstanding items as needed to complete reconciliations and serve as backup for other reconcilers.

  • Reporting to Texas A&M AgriLife Research management on A&M Foundation and System endowments on a quarterly basis.

  • Serve as AFR backup.

  • Backup for overseeing and compliance of Time and Effort reporting for the agency and serve as Time and Effort Central Administrator for Texas A&M AgriLife Research.

  • Backup for gift reporting process, coordinating deposits, donor communications, quarterly reconciliations, and other duties associated with gifts. Responsible for timely submission of quarterly and annual reports.

  • Serve as back up to Project Records

  • Actively participate with AgriLife Administrative Services reporting staff on best practices for financial reporting, website designs and agency procedures. Represent Texas A&M AgriLife Research in meetings, workshops or training sessions as needed.

  • Check Cost Share reporting codes monthly to ensure proper accounting for NSF reporting.

  • Other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience (four years of experience with high school diploma or two years of experience with associate degree) plus an additional three (3) years of related accounting experience.  

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.

Ability to solve complex problems.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Good customer service skills.

Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Salary: Compensation for this position is commensurate based on the selected candidate’s qualifications.

Flexible Work Arrangements: Flexible work schedules and remote work options may be available for this position, depending on the nature of the role and employee eligibility, in accordance with AgriLife Alternate Work Location Procedures.
